Looking for a summer eGeek fix?

If you are looking for a eGeek fix during our “off season” summer months then come by Newtown Square, PA on July 27th. Rich, Tom and I will be doing a SAP event called the SAP CodeJam during the day all about SAP HANA.

Remember Hacker Night? Well, SAP is bringing it back under a new format calledCodeJam. This new concept offers an opportunity for you as a developer to not only get your hands on SAP’s latest technologies but also to put yourself to the test and to code, hack and create with your peers.

SAP CodeJam Newtown Sq will focus on HANA technologies. As a participant, you’ll get access to SAP HANA including tools, sandboxes, experts, and more! In the days prior to the event, you’ll receive an email with a checklist and a couple of links that will help you get prepared. Additional information can be found here.

The event goes up until about 5pm maybe a bit longer and I can’t speak for Rich or Tom but I will be in town a bit longer if anyone wants to grab a drink or bite to eat.

    Hi Craig/eGeeks,

I think that all this new wave of hackathons is really great stuff!!! I wonder if you think that there is anyway for some developers like myself, residing in Argentina, to get access to the event “Virtually” via Skype or some other way.

I imagine that one of the main focus is to get developers working face to face, and sharing experiences – but I guess that it doesn’t hurt to ask if there is any possibility of a virtual attendees to the hackathons.

Thanks for the hard work and spread knowledge!
    Best,

    Diego Dora.

Not sure this particular set of events would be possible but several others for sure! Also I know the SAP CodeJam is planning 2 events in South America in Q4 😉

What’s your technology interest? Mobile? HANA? NetWeaver Cloud?

  3. Diego Dora says :

    All of them! 🙂

HANA, Mobile, Gateway, UI5… Cloud? why not? 🙂 … I’m working with two SAP Partner and they’re mainly working in the innovation sector, plus I’m always open for new stuff. Just to give you an idea of my geekness, yesterday I worked 14 hours and once I finished at the office I came to the hotel and played with Siri Proxy / Ruby until 3AM in the morning – to wake up again at 8am 😉

I’m following you, Thomas and some other Mentors on twitter, but if you want to write me an email whenever you have detail info I’ll be more than glad 🙂

Another question, Do you write minutes or some kind of Summary after every CodeJam? It would be great to see what results were achieved on the meetings and know about the topics.

    Thanks for your time Craig!
    Best,

    Diego.

No minutes, the events are really more focused on the face to face interaction and the communication amongst attendees.

The reason I asked about what topic (http://developer.sap.com) is because that’s how we focus a CodeJam and if someone has a location for us to use and a topic in mind and can get 10 to 30 people together then it’s possible for use to come there 🙂 regardless of where that is!

Sounds like a great opportunity! Let me check with the people from my company and see if we can come up with something in the next quarters!

    Thanks!!!
    Best,

    Diego.
