Guys, I regret to inform you that I don’t have any bacon cologne on my possession.
I was trying to shop for some on Amazon and didn’t find any but did find: http://www.amazon.com/Accoutrements-11653-Bacon-Wallet/dp/B0014J7NDI/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1303192764&sr=8-9
A bacon wallet. That seems classy enough for ASUG/Sapphire.
I also saw some bacon bandaids – bandaids that look like bacon (don’t think they smell like bacon though). One reviewer said: “I’m so fond of these band-aids that it’s a little bit of a downer when my wounds heal up. I eager anticipate paper cuts.” Err…ok.
I listened to this podcast while pushing through the tedious posting of one of my own podcasts – is that an insular form of multi-tasking or what? But it was a nice way to get through a tedious morning fighting an unwanted cold, so thanks.
I’m not sure I’m as high on gamification as Mario Herger but then I’ve always been a bit of a grinder and I think that’s not normal. Then again if there is a pinball machine at Sapphire I could see missing some blogger sessions for that – though not any of yours of course Craig!
Thomas glad the class went well, enjoyed discussing those ABAP career tips by email and like I said, I may try to turn that into a blog at some point.

Cool! I got mentioned in a podcast! Even though it was because my comment irked you somewhat. Yes, I was including myself – I will hit the big 4-0 this year. Hey, I didn’t report the science. I just passed along the knowledge. But I have to say from my own more recent experiences that it is logical. I don’t disagree with you about keeping focus. Always a good thing. Cheers!
Love the discussion about gamification. Hot topic in my new job at Salesforce. The service I am working on (jigsaw.com) uses basic game mechanics (points) and user reputation to generate a directory of business contacts. Just came across this excellent presentation on the topic (http://codingconduct.cc/#1093823/Meaningful-Play). Check out the slides on slide share. Specifically 94 – 99 is relevant to communities like SDN and the danger of points gaming.
Would love to participate in a show on this topic in the future.
Baked Beans are awesome for breakfast.
As an Australian and a POM, I feel uniquely qualified to retort.
BTW if you only ate bacon at hotels, it’s not surprising you just had the undercooked fat free bit. I know that Aussies as a general population are challenging Americans as the most overweight in the world – but it’s still hard to find good streaky bacon unless you cook it yourself. And in Australia we’d do that on a barbie.
Cheers,
Chris
