That Google PacMan was HTML5 was as good an ad for this tech as to almost justify the millions of of wasted man hours from playing it. ( I only made 3 levels – and I wish I’d known about that two player option)
When does our HTML5 island come for Web Dynpro?
Work has begun on an HTML Island for Web Dynpro ABAP – although it isn’t specific to or dependent upon HTML5. Its early work – still in design. Hopefully it will be completed for the next enhancement package.
Now an HTML5 renderer for Web Dynpro is also in the works, but planned farther out than the next enhancement package. We need to wait until mainstream browser adoption of HTML5 in the enterprise is better anyway (for example IE9). But we already have an internal version of a rendering engine and we have detailed plans for what additional HTML5 features we want to leverage.
@Chris – just for you, I updated the post with the Google PAC-MAN link
What – no sound effects this week (except for Ed’s own BeBot impression)?!
I was just thinking as Thomas was describing the build of the newest incarnation of Business ByDesign. Since it seems to have been developed with best practices (minus perhaps a SCRUM development methodology); is there a full BPMN level 1,2,3,n model of the whole solution built and maintained internally, and if so, is there any plans to make this made available to customers? This could be a great jump start for smaller companies to leverage to build a BPA view of their company if they implemented BBD.
Just a thought.
Keep up the great work and love the new format.
Cheers,
Matt
I still can’t believe I didn’t comment on this podcast when it came out! I just relistened to it and nothing I’ve learned about ByDesign since this podcast has really shifted since what you covered here. Though there have been some clarifications I think in terminology. Next week at the Influencer Summit I’ll be interested to see if they formally commit to a timeframe for the ByD 2.6 release with SDK. (sometime early 2011 was the previous indication I heard).
A couple topics came up in this podcast that will be cool to revisit: in-memory for one, and also uPods (when the team can be public with more details, that’s definitely a fascinating project).
OK, now I can sign off knowing I didn’t not miss commenting on this podcast – at least in the longer view!
