Ed, Why do you hate Apple so much? π I think Tom gave more liberal and fair enough review on the interests and how iPad helps individual to leverage the possibilities and its usefulness.
I personally think we need to appreciate the technology and companies that make it available. π
Is there something we can do about this to be part of this ecosystem? I completely agree with you both on how Apple not having openness and how this will hinder developers from growing thoughts, new ideas and approval system…..
Again, I enjoyed every talk on this episode. It is very interesting. Tom, I am totally convinced and I go by your recommendation. I’m gonna get my iPad – 3G next week.
I am also excited to be part of ASUG annual conference this time. Hope to meet you all at ASUG annual meeting. ~JK
Hi,
would have to agree with the evil bit… (DRM – Domination by Recent Monopoly? π
I was suprised you guys didn’t mention any of the Android based tablets that are looking to come out soon.

Given that everything Thomas seems to love about the iPad has nothing to do with it being an Apple (some would say good design/build quality is a hallmark of Apple – I’d say non-user replacable batteries (iPod) is an example of something that is not good design – beyond the rediculous closed development framework), and everything he doesn’t like is due to it being an Apple product… But I guess Apple wins by getting it to market first.
Likewise – I’d not want a little PC – the hassle/cost of licencing another load of software for it, no thanks.
Chris
