+1 – Never had a UI/UX person till I came to work for a tech company. Saying a “skin” creates a UI/UX is like saying that putting steak sauce on a tin can means you’re eating a steak.
Re: Visual Composer – I think there is no such thing as a BPX as defined by SAP. Real BPX people in companies don’t want to build applications — they want to build context and information. VC is in the middle, I agree with Thomas that it’s a 70% tool.
RE: IBM: IBM is slightly bigger, on a log scale. 🙂
Guys, having fun tonight doing some eGeeks catchup (coming out of my webcast production/sleep deprivation cycle).
I learned some things about RIA in this podcast. I totally agree with Ed’s point that users are getting a better sense of what to expect (or a higher standard?) from their consumer RIA devices. This will eventually transform the enterprise and the more SAP can do to foster this, the better.
Which gets to that great topic in this podcast about “bottom up” innovation versus a top-down, CEO/CIO sales approach. In terms of development, fostering culture from the bottom up is in my opinion a key to innovation. I think SAP has come a long way in this regard but it sounds like there is a lot to learn from Adobe and others, so hopefully we’ll see more of that. Anything SAP can do to support that kind of culture is going to pay off, on the flip side, things not done or actively downplayed or discouraged are going to place a drag on SAP’s competitive pursuit.
Some neat skills insights here too – I may mention Flash Islands in a podcast on SAP skills I’m doing with SearchSAP.com tomorrow.

Thanks for the shoutout. That Counter visit was epic. It’s great that you picked up on the vibe for Wine Fair video. The more distracted you are with information the more you drink!
Be sure to drop me a line next time your in the neighborhood,
