Hey Ed and Thomas:
Right now I’m listening to the podcast (Ok…That was yesterday but I just realized that I needed to be logged to post a comment LOL), but as long as you mention my name a couple of times…I want to add some comments -:)
For me…Nerds and Geeks are very different…Why? For me the main difference comes when you talk about Social Media…For me Nerds are passionate about Technology but Geeks are more involved in things like Twitter, LinkedIn and every new service that come on-line…I say this, because I got a lot of friends that qualify as Nerds, but doesn’t qualify as Geeks because they haven’t used any of the “Hot” Social Media sites in their lives…And after a little crash course from me…They still not interested…
About Enterprise Geeks University…Make it and sure I’m going to be the first foreign student! What would be better that being Certified by you guys! For me you’re the best of best among SCN and even SAP Mentors! -:D
About Blagbert Comics…You’re his heroes too of course…he’s a complete Eghead!
Greetings,
Blag.
@abesh gotta have more cowbell! Now that’s a great idea. π
@blag the geeks v. nerds comparison chart in this link agrees a lot with what you have to say http://militantgeek.com/2006/12/21/geek-vs-nerd-vs-dork/
Hey there. First time caller, long time listener….All this talk about automatic updates to Twitter, but didn’t Thomas have his XBox 360 Fable updates happening automatically for a bit there!
Keep up the good work guys!,
Matt
ps. BW will be so much easier…Now when will they rename PI back to XI!
I was using the desktop application found here to post my xbox live status to twitter:
http://duncanmackenzie.net/blog/connect-your-xbox-360-gamertag-to-twitter/default.aspx
Cool application, but yes everyone accused me of gaming when my kids used the xbox. Also you had to keep the application running on a PC all the time to constantly scan your xbox live account and then post to Twitter. It is amazing how much detail Xbox Live puts out there about your status however.
I also love the “First time caller, long time listener” quote. You wouldn’t happen to be a Bob and Tom listener as well? The Mr. Obvious show is one of my favorite skits and I listen to Bob and Tom many mornings while I go for my walk.
@Matt – Haha, that’s right. I think Thomas may have stopped that when we busted him playing games during the week a few times. He says it was his kids playing, but I don’t buy it. π
Listened to it yesterday and had a couple of good laughs π
Just in case SDN is down again and you need to look something up. My little sdn mobile site (http://tknight.org/sdn) caches every blog which is accessed via the site. So next time sdn is down have a look at sdn mobile, e.g. this is the link to the mentor blog post -> http://www.tknight.org/sdn/show/13433. Of course, it will not work if it is not in the cache, yet.
Since the search is powered by yahoo search you should also be able to use it even if sdn is down π
cheers
Thomas
