This week we welcome guest co-host Dan McWeeney filling in for Ed. Ed is out of the office because his wife just gave birth to their first child. Since Dan works for Adobe and works in the Adobe Flash/Flex world, we thought it would be the perfect podcast to dive into the hot topic of HTML5 verses Browser Plug-Ins (like Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight).

There has been a lot of debate lately (sparked largely by Apple and their refusal to have the Adobe Flash Plug-in on the iPhone/iPad) about exactly what the future role of Browser Plug-Ins will be given the advances that the next version of the HTML specification promises to bring. In this podcast both Dan and I provide our thoughts on the topic.

Enterprise Geeks Podcast – TechEd Vienna: Craig and RIA Hacker Night

The morning after the RIA Hacker Night in TechEd Vienna, fellow Enterprise Geek Craig Cmehil and myself had the opportunity to sit down and discuss the highlights of the Hacker Night, TechEd in General, and the future of both events. We also spend a little time looking back at some of the less know activities of TechEds past (digging up some stories that were perhaps best left unmentioned).

ABAP Freak Show – Oct 21st – Interactive Forms by Adobe

This is another episode of the ABAP Freak Show where we hop into the Wayback Machine and revisit a classic topic. In this episode, we look at creating Interactive Forms by Adobe that run within Web Dynpro ABAP. See the process from start to finish. We create the Web Dynpro Context and use it to generate the Interactive Form interface and context. We then import an existing PDF as the start of our form and extend with data mappings and a submit button.

ABAP Freak Show – May 8th – Islands Revisited

In this episode of the ABAP Freak Show, we once again revisit the topic of FlashIslands for Web Dynpro. This time we go deeper into the topic and see some advanced examples as well as alternative techniques for data binding and eventing.

Although the episode comes a few days late because of last minute preparations for ASUG/SAPPHIRE, hopefully everyone will find it worth the wait.
